Your chapter needs a new Secretary/Treasurer and someone to coordinate the Flight Breakfast.  This is your chapter and it is a volunteer organization.  Problem is, we are running low on volunteers -- not members, just volunteers.  If the few who do volunteer start to feel they are doing all the chapter work, our chapter will eventually become non-functional

There are now mug-shots of people who have attended meetings in the last year.  (scroll down)

Please note all future member meetings will be on Friday evenings.

Joe Connell has written a couple of very good articles which have been or will be published in magazines.

The Experimental Aircraft Association is a growing and diverse organization of members with a wide range of aviation interests and backgrounds. EAA was founded by individuals who were interested in building their own airplanes. Through its five decades, the organization expanded its safety, educational, and recreational mission to include preserving, promoting, and providing for the future of personal aviation.

The local chapters are the hands working on that mission. The Southeastern Minnesota Chapter was founded in 1958 as Chapter #100 and has been in continuous operation. The Chapter consists of about 40 members from across that region. Our members are individuals from a broad set of disciplines -- teachers, doctors, engineers, owners of large and small businesses, and professionals from a variety of trades. Our members' experience with aviation ranges from "brand new" to pre-WWII.

We are actively involved in the safe construction and maintenance of private aircraft. The collective knowledge gained through many years of aviation learning is applied to each member's project(s).

We host community events, including "Young Eagles Day," when our members volunteer their time and aircraft for the benefit of children ages 8-18. We provide free education and aircraft rides. It's a unique and essential activity to preserve and promote personal aviation. Our other main annual activity is a fly-in pancake breakfast at the Dodge Center airport. This is a well-known event to the residents of the area and pilots in the region. It is a great opportunity for the Chapter to work together and meet new friends, and it is reliable source of income to offset our expenses and grow the Chapter.

The Chapter maintains a 501(c)(3) status as a scientific, educational, and community service charitable organization.
